There was an art display in Civic Square last week but there was no sign of what I’d call art, i.e. paintings, sculpture etc. Instead there were a variety of odd arty type objects.

An outdoor lounge room, without TV, weird…

The columns at the front of Town Hall were wrapped in huge crocheted blankets, now that’s really odd…

There was also a fireplace made of firewood. Now that’s so crazy it just might work!!! Anybody got a match or lighter???

There was nothing holding the whole structure together except the “Artist’s” firewood stacking ability. I couldn’t help but wonder about public liability if it toppled & injured some innocent passerby…

Toilet of the Week #3

I missed posting a toilet last week so for those readers who look forward to the featured loo each week I humbly apologise & hope I haven’t caused any distress for anyone.

This week’s toilet is located at the Launceston General Hospital in the Pathology Department. I guess it’s there for people who have to get urine samples. Anyway I went to the hospital do deliver some electrical stuff, I didn’t need bladder relief but I stopped for a photo on the way out anyway.

As one would expect it was very clean & hygienic. Or is it??? Is there actually a greater health risk from using a toilet that is regularly frequented by the sick & the diseased of society???

Trollys ar very impawtant too sosiety becorz yoo kan fill them up at the soopamarket wiv the nesesitys ov lyf such as doggy choklits, kibbool, piggy eers, chikin wings & neks, toys lyk borls & kongs & rubba bones, ded cow, chikin, terky, lam & piggy meet for me to eet, vejjymyt for Daddy to mayk sanwijes for me to shair as well as lots ov egg & baykon McMuffens (Daddy mayd me typ that bit becorz hee lyks them).

Becorz shoping trollys hav weels yoo can orlso sit in them & go for a krayzy fast ryd down a steep hill, but not wiv me init becorz I am not that silly. Maybe Daddy wood try it wen Mummy’s not woching hym to keep hym outta trubool.

It’s odd how something is not a fashion, then somehow it becomes a fashion & then suddenly masses of people are wearing a certain style or following a certain trend.

Lately around town there are so many women wearing super duper ultra short black mini-skirts with black leggings. It wasn’t a fashion not so long ago, now it’s everywhere.

How does that happen???

What motivates people to suddenly all want to wear the same thing???

My Favourite Shirt

I have a dark blue & yellow striped polo shirt that is my ultimate favourite which I have had since I can’t even remember. My wife Michelle hates it & calls it my Bumblebee Shirt.

Flat Tony loves his Bumblebee Shirt too & even wore it on his 2010 World Tour.

Because Michelle hates it & thinks it’s really daggy I’m not allowed to wear it if we go shopping or out for dinner or anywhere else special. It is Michelle’s dislike of the Bumblebee Shirt that inspired me to do this cartoon.

It’s not a very good likeness of Michelle & I look more like George Negus (an Australian TV journalist/reporter) than myself.

I got an email from my daughter Kristy on Saturday afternoon. Here is an exerpt from it…

Hi Dad, how’s things? Nick and i have been following your blog almost daily and now i cant stop thinking about McDonalds, we have been very good with our eating and are trying to adopt a new healthier lifestyle and haven’t been to the cholesterol castle in a week. that’s pretty good as over the last couple of months we have probably had dinner there twice a week out of sheer laziness and convenience but not any more. but reading about all the macca’s (Australian slang for McDonald’s) food has made me want a chicken burger bad, i wont give in to the mcforce!

Then a couple of hours later I got this email from her

Hi, well the McForce got the better of us and we surrendered to the McDarth Vader! All for research of course. anyways this was the line up of my dinner

For research??? Where do kids get excuses like that from anyway???

After the 2nd email I just had to cartoon her.

The words in the speech bubble are her own as typed in the email except for the upsizing bit, I added that for extra effect.

Does this make me a bad influence on her???
